   Delicious Patishapta Pithe (Bengali Dish)  From Mother Dairy Milk & Milk Products

For Crepes:

  1. Samolina 1cup.
  2. Milk 1-1/2
  3. Maida (Plain Flour) 1 cup.
  4. Sugar 3-1/2 tablespoon.
  For Stuffing:
  5. Coconut 1/2.
  6. Sugar 1/4th. cup or OR Khajoor Molsses 3/4 cup
  7. Khoya 100 gms
  8. Cardamon 1 tsp
  9. Refined Oil 3 tbsp.
 
To make the crepes:
Soak the samolina in milk for 2 hours.
Mix in the flour (maida) and sugar and make a smooth paste without lumps.
 
 To make the Stuffing:
Grate the coconut.
Mix the sugar and coconut and put on low fire and stir till the mixture becomes homogenous and sticky.
Mix in the khoya and cardamon powder and stir well.
Remove from heat , cool and keep aside.
 To make the Patishaptas:
Heat a tava or a pan (preferably a non-stick one)
Smear it with a little refined oil.
Put 2 table spoon of the crepe batter and move the tava or pan in a circular motion so that the batter spreads out in a circular shaped crepe. Do not let it get brown. The colour should be offwhite.
Put a little coconut stuffing you already made, on one side of the crepe and fold it like an omlette to make the Patishapta..
Serve the Patishapta hot or cold.
Note: You can serve the Patishaptas with thick sweetened milk or rabri spread on top.

  1. Rice Powder - 500 gms
  2. Grated Coconut - 500 gm
  3. Jaggery - 500 gm
  4. Milk - 2 litre
  5. Sugar - 500 gm OR Khajoor Molasses 750 gm
  6. Warm Water - 100 gm.
     
     
     
 
Make a smooth dough of rice powder and warm water.  
     
Heat a pan, add jaggery and after melting it add coconut grated. Mix them properly as they make a dough like mixture. Boil the milk untill it turns half and add sugar in it.
     
Make small balls with rice dough and stuff the coconut mixtures in it and cover it carefully, which called Pulies. Now add the all pulies in the boiled and hot milk and cover it to cook for 15 minutes. Serve hot or cold as you like.

  15-20  minutes, To serve 3 - 5
